road trip: nashville.

road trips have become a bit of a tradition in my family for those sleepy few days between christmas and the new year. this year, we wound our way across the blue ridge and up through the smokies, and found ourselves in music city. it was really nice to unwind from the hustle and bustle of the holidays together, exploring nashville's many cute areas and enjoying good food and live music. bonus: my dear friend kara lives in town and was the loveliest hostess. i couldn't have asked for a better end to 2014.

a few favorites from our trip: hot chicken at hattie b's, live music anywhere and everywhere, breakfast and rosemary honey lattes at the frothy monkey, the johnny cash museum (perfect for a rainy afternoon), wandering the shops in 12south, fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese at acme feed & seed, a stop into third man records, and pretty views of the skyline from the pedestrian bridge.

  2. I was also just in Nashville! And took two steps into that Frothy Monkey, turned around, and left. It was so busy!

  4. I'm glad you had a good time! I've been curious about Nashville for some time but haven't actually gone: it's nice to be able to "visit" through your photos!
