september's market.

when autumn comes calling, i am beckoned to the saturday market for sour gherkins, cider donuts, and the smell of dirt and greens. i suppose my septembers have never really shaken that back-to-school feeling begging for tradition and routine, so very different from summer's insistence upon winging it.

for some, autumn marks an end, or a transition at best. for me, autumn is a deep breath, a welcomed pause, a shiny start. it's that sacred season when life slows down, becomes simpler and distilled, and things begin anew.
