missing husband while he travels this week, chasing a cold away with his shirt and cocoa, reading ina may's guide to childbirth, listening to birth stories, listening to hamilton leithauser + rostam, watching my belly move this way and that, making a birth playlist, making a packing list for the hospital, planning twelve dates of christmas, sipping red raspberry leaf tea, rejoicing in the births of friends' babes, feeling grateful to husband for how hard he works for us, meeting a craving with a balthazar sticky bun, meeting friends for green curry and duck, daydreaming of thanksgiving day, daydreaming of a crib, marveling that in mere handfuls of weeks, baby will be earthside and in our arms. this is life lately.
