we were away last week, adventuring out west, and arrived home just in time to welcome my sweet parents from south carolina. i love most when we wander through weekends, letting curiosities and whims fill our days.
and wander we did -- through the upper west side and the village and brooklyn flea, through union square and the flatiron and chinatown and chelsea market. and how we feasted -- on motorino pizza, on waffle sandwiches and croque madames at buvette, on stone fruit bruschetta on eataly's rooftop, on pork soup dumplings at joe's, on sticky toffee pudding at tea & sympathy, and how we celebrated -- christy's belated birthday with a central park picnic, christopher's early 30th birthday with a tasting menu at alta, our families gathered in surprise.
it was heart swells and pristine weather and new york city's late summer song.
The two of you and New York could not have welcomed us any better this weekend! Thank you for sharing your special places with us! I love you! PS...You forgot the divine pastries from Tarallucci! XO
