we hopped a train west to christopher's mama and dad's in the name of riding the heat wave and i took exactly one photograph. not pictured: filling our bellies with fresh salsa and guacamole, sipping fizzy drinks with limes, driving through trees in full summer leaf, catching up on the new yorker, a piping hot box of duck donuts, paging slowly through the sunday times, doing everything and nothing, all at once.
