it was bare feet and ruddy cheeks, naps on the porch and a houseful of family. uncle mike at the grill. wind chimes in the breeze. aunt glenda's cornbread and okra straight from her mama's garden. reds, whites, blues, and stripes. fireworks when it got dark and coming home for a slice of peach pie. little cousins playing in the yard, blowing bubbles, thick as thieves.
