cokie and matt have been talking about the big e, a fair for all of new england, since they went last fall, and i was happy to go along this year. all of saturday, we wandered the booths, sharing foods and treats local to each state—new hampshire pumpkin pie, vermont cheese, maine lobster rolls, rhode island kettle corn. matt's parents were the loveliest hosts and the weekend was wonderful in every way—a proper welcome for fall.
