in the giving.

growing up in south carolina, my grandmother and i would spend whole days before christmas making fudge together, carefully packing it into tins, and delivering it to the bank, to the doctor's office—to friends all over our small town. i decided this year to harken back to my roots and spend a sunday making buckeyes (like my stepmom does) and delivering them to friends (like my grandmother did). there's so much joy in tradition—and in the giving.

  3. The packaging is adorable. I think if I got one of these, it would be too pretty for me to eat.

  4. Shoot - according to Christy's comment, you are already gone. I so wanted to get your Christmas gift to you before you left. I guess you will get to keep celebrating Christmas by opening a gift after the new year!

  5. the packaging is so adorable. Gah! I wish I had the patience to do this. I keep telling myself "next year" but I should just get my ass in the kitchen and do it now!
