at the holiday market.

the holiday markets that spring up across the city are one of the loveliest things about december in new york. the markets bustle with food vendors, toy makers, local businesses, and etsy shops, and every booth is just so festive. such colors and smells! especially the spice vendor. i can never get over the rows and rows of beautiful, interesting bowls. they beckon me from many steps away.

one afternoon i stole husband away for a quick lunchtime stroll through the market at columbus circle. we browsed the booths and uttered a collective wish for somewhere, just somewhere, to hang a colored glass lantern in our home. someday! then we shared thick bratwursts and warm, nutella-filled churros. good heavens, those churros! mark my word, that wasn't our last visit to the holiday market.
