things that happened this summer.

are we really nearly through september? autumn feels very much here, and we'll be heading south to become husband and wife in forty five short days. as we barrel towards autumn's opening day, i can't help but feel as though summer was a whirlwind. so many things happened and it all went so fast!

+ wrote a lot of words, took a lot of photos
+ found a pretty wedding dress
+ savored a weekend with two of my best girls in rhode island
+ felt so loved and supported at my first bridal shower

+ designed a stunning ring in secret
+ had an important conversation with my father
+ played soccer by the brooklyn bridge every tuesday
+ started an exciting new job
+ turned twenty nine in the woods

+ were engaged in the treehouse one friday morning in june
+ spent a happy weekend with family in texas
+ picnicked by turtle pond
+ baked a peach pie on the fourth of july
+ filled the treehouse with lavender and wildflowers
+ adventured in the carolinas on the lake and in the mountains
+ saw romeo and juliet at lincoln center and the taming of the shrew in the park
+ went swinging on swings
+ took engagement photos on the corner where we met
+ got away with friends -- to amelia island, to point pleasant, to shelter island
+ attended my ten year (!) high school reunion
+ felt the stress of planning a wedding
+ felt the sweetness and honor of planning a marriage
+ grilled sunday supper on the roof
+ went sailing on the hudson river
+ took a sunday drive up to woodstock
+ listened to opera in the park
+ escaped to rockaway beach one sunday afternoon
+ saw two beautiful films -- captain fantastic and cafe society
+ ate our weight in lemongrass gelato
+ danced to beirut in prospect park
+ wrote a lot of thank you notes
+ chased farmstands and sunflower fields
+ booked our honeymoon

what a summer it was! and what a fall it shall be.
