i joined the book club girls on the bowery for french toast & conversation. central park slept under a blanket of snow. my sweetheart baked me an early birthday cake. i made time for journaling, for sorting photos, for a haircut -- small and simple things that can give way to such joy. we shared red wine and onion soup at balthazar's -- a point of reference of sorts for paris. paris, just days away.
