on our fourth date of christmas, we made a whole day of it. we went for treats at the wafels & dinges truck by lincoln center, did a little holiday shopping, sipped eggnog at miracle on ninth street, and watched classic cartoons at the brooklyn academy of music -- ferdinand the bull, the wise little hen, magician mickey, mail dog, the old mill, and toot, whistle, plunk, and boom. only after we sat down did we realize that the show was likely meant for children and, if it is possible for cartoons from disney's golden age to be any more charming, they certainly were as our wee neighbors shrieked and howled with delight.
