a friend gifted us last minute tickets to see the new york pops orchestra play at forest hills stadium last night, so we made an adventure out of it. i'd never been to forest hills and was totally charmed by the pretty tudor-style houses lining the streets. i'd love to go back for another look around. on a recommendation, we stopped into station house for dinner—a beer for him, a whiskey for me, fried chicken and ribs to share. delicious.
the orchestra partnered with sutton foster for the show and she sang a bunch of broadway songs, as well as some beautiful covers. i loved "sunshine on my shoulder" the most. and how about that sunset over manhattan? it was wild! what a good night adventuring together.
