always such a lovely way to spend a saturday with friends, enjoying food carts and the unbeatable view of the city. i find that getting out of manhattan from time to time really deepens my appreciation for it, even if i'm just escaping to the other side of the river and even if it's only for one day.
we bought feta-watermelon skewers and ice cream sandwiches, found a grassy spot, and stayed awhile, and the afternoon epitomized my hope for the coming months: time spent savoring simple, summery things.
