i can see a lot of life in you.

friend erica is moving to baltimore in a few weeks and her one request before leaving was an afternoon of quintessential upper west side experiences she never quite got around to during her new york years: riverside park, zabar's, strawberry fields and the beautiful dakota apartment building, a chocolate shake at shake shack...

it's a funny thing to play tourist in one's own neighborhood, but entirely necessary, i think, every once and again. there's so much to see in this city—it brims with beauty and quirks—and i'd like to be reminded as often as possible.

  1. The UWS was beautiful on Saturday. I found myself especially smitten as I walked up to 85th for brunch and then down to 74th to Fairway. I think it might be my favorite ny neighborhood (although that West Village....). Glad you had a good time with your friend.

  2. The only one of those things I've done is Shake Shack, so can you please be my tour guide in a couple weeks?
