eucalyptus.

when i was growing up, my grandmother kept dried eucalyptus branches in the closet where her christmas ornaments and wreaths and porcelain village lived. if ever she couldn't find me, she knew i was in the christmas closet, breathing it in. one day, i'll keep a closet like that, too, but today i'm simply grateful for the sweet memory and how the saturday market eucalyptus stand makes it comes alive all these years later.

  1. Isn't it great how certain smells can bring back such strong memories...

  2. Aw, I love the smell of eucalyptus. It reminds me of growing up in the bay area...it's crazy how our sense of smell is so much more special than we first realize :)
