last week we celebrated bethany's 25th birthday at freemans, tucked away in an unused alley on the lower east side. rugged and intimate, it draws inspiration from a colonial tavern and finds fame in cocktails and hot artichoke dip. it's also a bit nondescript; look for the fairy lights.
