a stop at a roadside peach stand on the way back from highlands left us with fresh carolina peaches
for days. a few of my family members don't like peaches at all, so those of us that that do were forced to drink peach shakes for lunch and experiment with cobbler recipes after supper. yesterday i arrived home with a bag full of them and enjoyed one while i unpacked. i'm happy to have one of my favorite bits of the carolinas here in the north with me. they're just so good.
You're back (notice I didnt say you're "home"... I know how conflicted that word can feel after a trip like this)!! Those peaches look divine and remind me of my mom's tree at home. YUM. I wish I could smell your apartment right now, I'm sure it's deliciously peachy.
