island burgers + shakes.

shake shack forever has my heart, but i met friend mikhaela for island burgers the other night and, i must say, it was delicious (and the malted shake changed my world). plus, these days it's a little warm to dine al fresco, so these window-heavy sidewalk eateries all over the city are providing a happy respite. i'd say these summer nights are filling themselves well.

  1. Every single post makes me want to visit NYC! I have never been, and am dying to go. I think I might just have to do it this fall. I've heard its the best time to visit the city.

  2. A friend of mine told me about Island burger and he actually likes it better than Shake Shack! It's obviously up to personal preference, but yes, I've been wanting to go for a while now.

  3. @katie, i am partial to autumn in new york , as well :)

@jillian, island was definitely a step up in terms of sitting down, having a waiter, noise level, and menu options...but there's just something about the shack ;) i'll definitely be going here again, though!

  4. We went there last Thursday for our farewell dinner with Mike and Sara! It's soooo good. We also had the Shake Shack vs. Island Burger talk while we were there. :) The burgers are bigger and more gourmet, and obviously really really delicious... but you're right, there is just something about the shack. You almost can't compare the two. Apples to oranges. ;)

  5. You always find the most amazing restaurants! I need to find a way to get back to NYC, while my sister is still in college there.
