28 June 2010

the end of june means that 2010 is half over. can you believe it? the older i get, the faster time goes by. for me, that is the most surprising thing about growing up.

childhood seemed never-ending. and then it did. high school was long. and now i have been out of it longer than I was in it. i blinked and college passed.

i am good about savoring moments as they happen, but that doesn't mean that i don't miss them when they are gone.

2010 so far...

january. my girlfriends from childhood and i celebrated our first friend to have a baby.

february. i turned 22 and charleston saw its first snow in twenty years.

march. spring break in dallas and a family picnic in the park.

april. a weekend at home for easter.

may. i graduated college and my whole family was together.

june. summertime in charleston with my best friend and a new friend from england.

a completely lovely first half of 2010.

  1. Sweet Alexa,
I just want to wrap you up in a hug when I read this. I know that I don't know you but you are so tender and vulnerable here and My heart is just singing in knowing that at such a young age you know how to savor tender and happy and I am sure even the difficult moments. Treasure this, write about it often {it is a gift without Price}, share it, teach it, encourage it in others.
There will be some who have not been as blessed as you, they will find light through your ability to savor, it will lift them. You will probably never understand the impact you have on there lives but I know that it will be there.

Have a joyous vacation and enjoy the beach for me.

  2. Thank you, Vicki!! I appreciate your sweet words so much. You made my whole day! I hope all is well in AZ!
